GOOD EARTH GARDEN CENTER WINS MAJOR INDUSTRY AWARD

The Good Earth Garden Center has been recognized as the national winner of Today’s Garden Center magazine’s Revolutionary 100 Garden Centers award. This annual program recognizes the 100 most innovative, progressive independent garden retailers in the country.

Hundreds of garden centers are nominated, and five regional winners are chosen, but only one retailer in the nation can hold this prestigious title. The Good Earth Garden Center was selected by a panel of judges for its excellence in a number of areas, including expansion into successful new product categories, its focus on local suppliers and products and its commitment to the personal and professional development of its employees.

Gregg and Julie Curtis were excited to receive the award at a banquet earlier this year in Atlanta. “We’re here because of a lot of other people. We have such a great team. Julie and I are just the coaches,” said Gregg. “We work with our staff to develop our company values and also to encourage them personally. We understand that a successful employee emits an air of joy, ease and confidence to which our customers respond positively. And beyond that, together we make a family and support and celebrate each other as such.”

Besides caring for employees, the Good Earth also provides a unique experience for its customers. They offer something for everyone — free ice cream days for wholesale customers, a YouTube channel that features instructional videos, a playground area for kids, an animal-friendly facility, and lots of charitable giving.

The Good Earth Garden Center is all about creating an outstanding environment, whether it be a work environment for their employees, a shopping environment for their customers or an attractive and sustainable garden environment for personal homes and public spaces. And they are honored to have these efforts recognized by such an influential magazine and award program.
