Boxwoods are evergreen shrubs, ideal for sculpting, and feature a neat mound if left unmanicured. This is one of the most popular plants for topiaries. Smaller growing varieties would well to define garden beds and paths as they can be formed into short hedges. A fair amount of shearing is necessary to keep clean shapes and lines but the natural rounded shape is also very attractive.
