Cast Iron plants are tough, versatile shade loving perennials, valued for their evergreen, glossy foliage. They have the ability to grow in full shade, fluctuating temperatures and soil moisture levels, and neglect. The leaves are lance-shaped and may have yellow or white markings in some species. Plant clumps spread via rhizomes and may form tall groundcover or mass planting. Cast Iron can also be grown as houseplants.
