Elm

Elm trees make excellent shade trees, street trees and also work well in rain gardens. Grow elm trees in average, medium moisture areas with well-drained soil. Although elm trees prefer full sun, they are tolerant of light shade, and they also adapt well to both wet and dry conditions. Elm trees are low maintenance; the varieties we carry are resistant to the famous Dutch elm disease. Elms are typically vase shaped and feature attractive dark green leaves with a toothed margin.
